BREAKING NEWS! Blogs on the Pod – DataWeekender 4.2 Edition announced for Saturday 6th November
So breaking last-minute news this morning as Blogs on the Pod was about to go live – We decided to release the date of the next DataWeekender conference. Call for Speakers will open towards the end of summer, around September but if you want to sign up early you can do so on the Meetup Groups the event will take place online on Saturday 6th of November. There will likely be more announcements and changes over the next few weeks so stay tuned for more details.
In other news I also, my data weekender 3.1 t-shirt arrived this week. I have seen that many of the speakers and volunteers who took part in Dataweekender 3.1 and requested a T-Shirt have also received their swag packages too. So seeing as I’m wearing mine I’d like to thank everyone who pitched in made Dataweekender 3.1 a huge success. I’m sure that version 4.2 later in the year will just as successful. Do sign up today

Kevin Chant posted about Using Azure Test Plans for Data Platform deployments where he teaches you, well, about Azure Test Plans. He explains that Azure test plans are a service in Azure Dev Ops and that can be useful for database deployments for amongst other things managing your manual tests. Have a read here.

Adriano Da Silva post about the Power BI July update, there is a lot of changes in Power Bi This month. too much for me to into in detail but highlights include the fact that the built-in visuals now include the power automate visual, conditional formatting has been extended and there is a new model view to name just a few

Andy Cutler made his Pod debut this week with a great post on Azure Synapse Analytics Serverless SQL pools. He talks about for support Views and External tables, he explains the difference and when you should use them. You can read the post here
Jasper Kent – has a great YouTube series on .Net in this week’s video he is talking about Dependency Injection Tips and Tricks, well worth a watch. He some other great videos over on his YouTube channel too so do check those out.
