PHIT Football – Data Sources, APIs and Powershell

This post will discuss the available data sources that we can use to analyse player data and make better FPL decisions. We also have a YouTube video of me downloading the data using the PowerShell modules.

PowerShell Modules

Fortunately, you can access the data through the FPL website and app, but you can also connect to the FPL APIs and return all the data you need.

There is also an excellent free PowerShell module that will make the API calls for you and use PowerShell to download all the data you need to start your FPL analytic journey.

The video shows me running through using some of the PowerShell commands to download some of the critical player data and also the team that I have picked – using the auto choose options.

Now we have the data, the next thing we need to do is fire up Power BI Desktop and load the data into a Power BI model.
