SQL Saturday Edinburgh

On Saturday 1st February 2020  we will be attending, sponsoring, exhibiting and delivering a couple of talks at SQL Saturday Edinburgh. We decided at our Christmas planning meeting to try and support a few more community events in 2020. As part of that, we looked into sponsoring conferences as well as talking and presenting at them.

The SQL Saturday in Edinburgh was close enough to home for us to sponsor. We were able to get all the items to the venue that are needed to be an event sponsor, rollup banner, flyers, prizes and so on. The Edinburgh SQL Saturday was far enough in the future for us to plan but close enough for us to have an immediate impact. More importantly, they had space for a sponsor.

We opted for the gold sponsorship package, this was the most expensive option but also offered the most ROI as a sponsor.

Exhibit at the event

We have a roll-up banner some flyers and come and find us and say hello grab a pamphlet and a grand prize some come and say hello to us on the stand

Put up a Raffle Prize

As a sponsor of SQL Saturday Edinburgh, you can put up a raffle prize. The prize is to encourage attendees to engage with you and share contact details. The. The organisers want the sponsor to get the most out of the raffle to allow the sponsor to enable them to get the most out of the raffle. I’ve not sponsored an event like this before. While I have attended and spoken at several SQL Saturdays across Europe and North America, I couldn’t remember what the sponsor raffle prizes were at those events. So we decided to go for an iPad. With no idea how this will compare to other sponsors prizes or if it will attract people to interact with us we’re finding our way as we go here hopefully people will like it and use their raffle tickets on it. Deliver a sponsor session

As a sponsor, we also get to deliver a session in the lunch interval. I’m going to present a 30-minute session on licencing and how you can save some money on your SQL Server licensing. My sponsor session on licencing will start in the Arran room at 12:45 pm do come and say hello.

Regular Session

Before we got involved with this event sponsorship, this was one of the events that I submitted to talk at towards the end of last year. My “Driven by 9s session” was selected in late December, and off that back of that, I decided to get involved with sponsoring the event too. I’ll be delivering this session in the Arran room. The “Driven by the 9s” session will start at 1:30 pm. Maybe I’ll see you in this session too?
