Business Network Wales – Beating the Recession

Business Network Wales

Business Network Wales aims to help business owners in wales, who have been struggling with lockdown and the enforced economic downturn which has affected businesses large and small across the UK. Providing a platform where business owners can help each other out, support each other with social media (Linkedin) marketing efforts and help grow everyone’s business.

The small business heroes

Small business makes up the backbone of the UK economy. It is no different in Wales. Whether you are an independent financial adviser providing quality services to his clients, a utility consultant that help companies to lower their costs, or a shop owner, hairdresser, plumber or carpenter you keep the economy moving. No doubt you are experts in your field and work in your business all day long, but you also have to spend time working ‘on’ your business, for it to survive, find new customers, grow and keep up with everything else involved in running a business. So you’re probably working as a marketing consultant, HR, sales and accounts alongside everything that you do for your business.

There are many activities to keep a small business owner fully occupied, and it’s unlikely you only work a 9 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday

Lockdown and recession

Running a small business is hard enough even in favourable economic conditions The past few months since lockdown at the end of March has no doubt given you something extra to worry about and has had an impact on everybody’s business. Large organisations that you normally associate as being wealthy successful companies have needed government help to survive and pay their staff will the world economy stopped in its tracks. It’s no shock that this has given small business owners, even more, to reasons to be concerned. No doubt you will asked yourself many questions like

  • How will I start again?
  • How can I promote my business and win new customers?
  • Will I be able to trade as I used to?
  • Will I need to change how I operate?

You have probably felt a little daunted when thinkings about the questions.

Business Network Wales – Networking can help

It’s important to remember we are all in the same storm. Granted we are not “in the same boat” our boats may be different, different shapes size and models etc, but we all now have a common goal, charting a path out of the stormy waters

Business Networking Wales can help you meet like-minded business people who all share the same goal of finding a path out of the COVID-19 storm.

Together. Stronger.

To pinch a slogan from the Wales football team, their football fans and the Euro 2016 football tournament, we’ll be in a much better position to get through this and find a path if we stick together and help each other out.

That’s the aim of the Business Network Wales online networking events. In the first of the events in June, we introduced the concept of a Linkedin POD. Social media will no doubt be a key marketing tool to help your business recover, do you feel you don’t get a lot of engagement? Well, the POD can help. If you write engaging content for Linkedin, the POD can help you reach your network and beyond by engaging with your post. Commenting on it, sounds like a small thing if you get enough engagement early on the in the life of a post the more Linkedin will show it to more people, it’s like a virtuous circle. It will allow you to extend your reach, get your message in front of more of your network which should result in more exposure and more sales.

Just check out the statistics on two of my posts, one with little engagement and one with lots of comments and likes.

The POD effect

The event is not just about the POD Other speakers will be invited to speak to the group at these events too so you’ll get a chance to share your advice and ideas.

Sticking together we can all get our business back on track as the UK economy unlocks and business gets going again.
