Adriano de Silva – Shared that he was excited to see a Microsoft Tech Summit at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) this week. Check it out if you want to attend. Adriano also a South Florida User Group event running on Wednesday 7th July, in the session you can learn SQL vs NoSQL and Moving data from NoSQL database to Cloud via Azure Data Factory by Diponkar Paul You can find out more details here

Kay Sauter – Kay’s first Data TGIF has been rescheduled and is running today at 3:30 pm CEST (2.30 pm UK time). You can sign up on Meetup here. He has a great speaker lined up and it promises to be a fantastic event.

Kevin Chant – Wrote a blog and shared on the Pod, where “Crash course on how you can connect to a local SQL Server database running on your laptop to Azure Synapse Analytics” You can read the whole post here, it is well worth a read and very useful.

Nikola Ilic – “Someone told you that #SSRS and Paginated reports are dead? Check once again, as the brand new Paginated Report visual in #powerbi is here to stay and enrich your reporting solutions!” Have a read of Nikola’s blog post here You will still need Premium capacity!

Gethyn Ellis – I shared the fact I appeared on Geeks on Screens with Mark Pryce-Maher. You can view the whole interview here on YouTube

Ben Weissman – Ben has published a new course on Pluralsight all about “Monitoring and Troubleshooting Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Clusters and Workloads” It looks like a very good course and one I will be checking out when time permits. Also, I discovered via the POD that Ben was renewed as an MVP yesterday, which is very much deserved so congratulations to my pal Ben.

Damir Matešić a fellow POD and Dataweekender organiser was renewed as an MVP on 1st July. So congratulation to you too Damir

Share your content with the pod

It will help you increase your reach.

If you create content for SQL Server and the Microsoft Data Platform, read on. If you share your content on Linkedin, you can great exposure from your network. You can share your knowledge with a wider audience. For you to get excellent traction on Linkedin you need your network to engage with your post. Engagement = comments and likes from your network. You need this engagement in the first two hours so of posting your content.

Join the POD

Have a look at my post from Tuesday. I know the others get similar results but let me share an example with you. When I get lots of comments and likes it’s not unusual for my LinkedIn posts to get thousands of views. If I don’t manage to get the engagement it’s usually just a few hundred views. My post from Tuesday ended up with nearly 4500 views. You’ll see that Mark actually comments on the Linkedin activity in the introduction to the Podcast.
