Blogs on the Pod – Jelly Fish Edition – Introduction

It has been a quiet week here at GRE HQ. The summer holiday are kicking in we spent last weekend in Tenby. We found this Jelly Fish washed up on the shoreline. I’ve never seen a Jellyfish quite as big or quite as blue.

On the work front, while it is the summer holiday season we had some work to do for a client I spent a few talking to a telecoms company about their data strategy. It was a very interesting  few days for me.

• James Reeves shared a post showing you can copy an Azure SQL database using T-SQL quite easily.
• Kevin Chant published a blog discussing master data management. He posted his entry to this month’s TSQLTuesday, all about Work-Life Balance. Kevin also shared some complimentary vouchers for the up and coming DPS conference.
• Jean Joseph published a Linkedin post promoting Kevin Chant and Sander Stad’s DevOps Duet talk – I recommend you check out the event and the session.
• Nikola Ilic published the final post in his series on building and end to end analytical solution using Power BI – The whole series is well worth a read.
• Kay Sauter was letting everyone know that he was speaking at the first-ever Dataverse event. Due to existing work commitments, I didn’t catch any of the events but social media coverage that I did see suggest it was a great event and I’m sure that Kay’s session was very well received.
• Deepthi Goguri shared her TSQLTuesday post with a different take on Work-Life balance. Small steps win the day.
• Adriano Da Silva – promoted his South Florida user group event.
• Ben Weissman shared his new Pluralsight course all about using Azure Image Builder to provision VMs – Looks like a great course
• Torsten Strauß – was speaking at the Albuquerque user group on Friday discussing In-Memory OLTP design principles
